The Steilacoom High School English Department maintains a consistent late work policy among all teachers. Please consult with the instructor if you have questions about this policy.

The following parameters outline the rules that govern most cases:

  • ON TIME: Work submitted at the appropriate date and time may receive up to 100%.
  • ONE DAY LATE: Work submitted one day late is subject to a 10% reduction in credit. Therefore, the maximum credit possible for work submitted one day late is 90%. For the purposes of this policy, "one day" means one school day. If an assignment was due Friday, work turned in on Monday is considered one day late.
  • TWO DAYS LATE: Work submitted two days late is subject to a 20% reduction in credit. Therefore, the maximum credit possible for work submitted two days late is 80%. Because Steilacoom HS is on a block schedule, two days late is usually the next day the class meets.

IMPORTANT:BY 08:15am LATE WORK MUST BE SUBMITTED TO THE TEACHER IN PERSON OR PLACED IN THE TEACHER'S STAFF MAIL BOX.

A score of 0 (zero) is assigned when:

  • An assignment is not submitted at all, and the 08:15 deadline has passed two days after the original due date
  • An assignment is submitted after the 08:15am deadline two days after the original due date
